Preparing for Your Piano Tuning Appointment
To ensure the best possible results from your piano tuning, please take a few simple steps to prepare:
Clear the top of your piano. Remove any decorations, picture frames, lamps, or other items so your technician can easily access the tuning pins and interior components.
No need to move the piano. Most upright and grand pianos do not need to be pulled away from the wall for tuning, unless otherwise specified.
Minimize background noise. While some ambient noise is manageable, a quiet environment allows for more precise tuning and better results.
Comfort and lighting matter. Make sure the room is at a comfortable temperature and that there is adequate lighting near the piano.
Report any issues. If your piano has sticking keys, buzzing sounds, pedal problems, or anything else unusual, let your technician know ahead of time so they can come prepared.
